Jamin Debu is a senior in the University of Washington computer science program who, as a an award-winning classically trained competitive pianist and composer, picked up guitar on his own just before he turned twelve, applying his ear training, musical knowledge and work ethic to his new instrument. Tommy Emmanuel and Chet Atkins were his greatest inspirations. He is a recording artist and the curator of FretStation, a Youtube channel for his original compostitions, arrangements, and covers of pieces by Chet Atkins. His Group class at the Ribbon Festival is a gentle and inspiring introduction to this beautiful instrument, where each student gets their own guitar to play.
